Moderate sign · many auctions
Relisted soon after “selling”
An item that sold at auction reappearing for sale within two weeks.
Updated
Not checked by Susbid yet. This pattern only appears across many of a store’s auctions, so a single listing can’t show it. Below is how to look for it yourself.
What it looks like on eBay
- An auction ends with a winning bid, and the same item, photos and all, is listed again days later, or offered to another bidder through a Second Chance Offer.
Why it counts
When the high bidder was never a real buyer, the item has to be sold again. A sale that doesn’t stick is one visible trace of that.
Innocent explanations
A present sign is a reason to look closer, not a conclusion. Common innocent reasons for this one:
- Real winning bidders sometimes don’t pay, and the seller relists or makes a Second Chance Offer.
- Some sellers have several copies of the same card or item.
Check it yourself
- Search the seller’s listings for the same title or item photos after an auction ends.
- Note whether you, as an underbidder, received a Second Chance Offer.
