Weak alone sign · many auctions
Final price above comparable sales
Auctions that end well above what comparable items sell for.
Updated
Not checked by Susbid yet. This pattern only appears across many of a store’s auctions, so a single listing can’t show it. Below is how to look for it yourself.
What it looks like on eBay
- One store’s auctions consistently end above what the same card or item sells for elsewhere.
Why it counts
Inflated bidding raises final prices. On its own, a high price says little, so this sign counts only with others.
Innocent explanations
A present sign is a reason to look closer, not a conclusion. Common innocent reasons for this one:
- Better photos, a cleaner grade or a trusted seller reputation earn higher prices.
- Two bidders who both really want the item can push the price far above comps.
Check it yourself
- Compare the final price with recent sold listings of the same item and grade.
